Thanksgiving 2014

We are so blessed and have countless things, people, events, memories, to be thankful for!  It's hard to believe how last year we were SO sad knowing Asher and Annalise would not be coming home until mid-January- and now here they are and they are in awe of all the details of Thanksgiving and Christmas!  It would have totally been overwhelming for them last year....

The morning was beautiful- crisp and clear!  We started it with cinnamon rolls, eggs, bacon and fruit!

Then we introduced them to The Macy's Thanksgiving Parade! They loved the musicals, floats, singers, it was such an amazing thing for them!

To say that Annalise is obsessed with Hello Kitty is an understatement- you can imagine her excitement when the Hello Kitty balloon floated by!  Even our sweet neighbor called to make sure Annalise was watching!

The highlight was when Santa came into sight!  Everyone is SUPER excited!!  Annalise is even more excited since this Santa will let her keep her gifts!!  We saw pictures of them with gifts at Christmas- and she claims that they were given gifts, but they were not for them, but their groupa.  She is SO excited that gifts given to her, will be HERS!

Next up was meal prep....  We were sharing the meals with some friends from around the corner- they were bringing the turkey so we worked on the sides.  Alden is pretty good at pealing potatoes!

The table all set- I loved this paper table cloth covered in games for the kids!  They loved it- and one kid even started eating it!

Annalise thought it was super special to color on the tablecloth- and she colored a lot- which is excellent practice for her!

Getting the rolls ready to cook!

Asher wanted to get in on the food prep- so he made some cookies- very full of fiber these cookies...

All 12 of us- 12 in 2 families!  8 kids under 8years old!  It was awesome, loud, and full of laughter!!  A little bit later, the Ws come- and the count went up 16 people, 10 kids under 8!  It was awesome!!

Isn't this the cutest dessert for the kids?!?  Thank you Katherine!!
It was a great day spent with family and friends and reflecting on all our blessings!!

Thanksgiving Eve

The day before Thanksgiving the kids and I were off from school- and the weather was perfect to snuggle down at home, make crafts, and just relax.  Still, we needed to run a few errands, so decked out in our best rain/snow gear (yes, SNOW- only fat flakes, but still, SNOW in November!). The kids loved the small carts and followed me through Kroger like my little ducklings!  They were adorable and made all that we encountered smile!  The added bonus was that you knew exactly where we were in the store at any given moment- those little carts are LOUD!

After the shopping we made lots of crafts- mostly ornaments for teachers and family.  It was a nice, low-key family day!
Little Shoppers ready to SHOP!

Alden showed me this- it just melts my heart!  He has been a little difficult lately, so this made my heart happy to know that what he IS Thankful!

I am thankful for things. But this thanksgiving I am most thanksgiving for that my mom and my dad adopted Annalise, Asher into my family.  I am thankful God, Jesus because they saved us from are sins, secondly.  Thirdly I am thankful for food, water, because it lets us stay alive.  Next I am thankful for

Swim Meet

Addie and Alden are swimming for the Midlothian Tidal Waves again this year- they love it and we love that the entire family can benefit from a Y membership!!

This meet, Asher and Annalise showed how much they have come- the first swim meet they attended in February resulted in them leaving kicking and screaming- they wanted to swim and couldn't understand why they weren't allowed to...  This meet they were excited to cheer for Addie and Alden!!  Progress!!  Addie and Alden did well- they placed (aka won ribbons) in every event!!  Way to go!!

Addie off the blocks like a rocket!
Heat Winner for butterfly!

Alden off like a bullet- he won his heat for breaststroke, but I didn't get it on camera....
