The Non Baseball Get Together

It all started in college- we got together at Al's house ate a huge pot of chili I made, apple pie Megan made, decorated pumpkins, and took pics on a bale of hay- we called in a Harvest Party.  We have continued that tradition in different forms, for almost over 15 years!  This year, it looked like some of the crew coming to Georgia to attend a Braves vs. Cardinals game.  It didn't turn out quite like we planned (game was canceled due to rain) but we had fun, and the added bonus is that our tickets are exchangeable for ones NEXT season so we can all get together and try it again!!
Candy Corn cookies- not a success...
11 kids pained pumpkins
Apples were dipped in caramel and then candy- and then consumed!
Ready for our game!
Our little family
Our whole gang
Asher and Annalises' first Major League game
Adeline was given a game ball by one of the field workers- made her night- and it was the only baseball we would see all night!
These two are two peas in a pod!
While we didn't get to see any baseball- we did have fun eating baseball food, watching kids in batting cages, and walking around- the kids got a baseball experience and had oodles of fun!  We do look forward to the summer when we get to try again!

Big Moments in Every Day Life

Life often gets so busy that little-big-deals get lost...  Here is my little effort to remember to celebrate the little-big moments!
Chosen as Star Student for her class due to her outstanding behavior!

Candy Apples for the teachers for all that they do- for no reason other than we are thankful for them!

Donuts with Dad
Al went into work late so that he could attend a celebration in honor of all the Dad's!
Annalise can now ride a bike!
These aren't huge moments- but we are thankful for them nonetheless!

Fall Break

Since Georgia schools start the beginning of August, they get a Fall Break!  This week off, coupled with a great deal on SouthWest= a trip to New York!  The kids were so excited to see Nate and their grandparents, and we even able to squeeze in watching Nate play hockey and see the Statue of Liberty!  It was a great trip!

In a nutshell- this is what we did!
Up early to catch our flight!

After Nate's hockey game on Sunday, we headed into town for a festival- the kids all got to paint a canvas- what fun!

This was the kids' reaction to driving through Newark on our way to the Statue of Liberty....

Ferry Ride with Manhattan in the background!
Fun with Lady Liberty- and sore legs the next day!
Quick stop at Elis Island- found Poppy's parents names!
Fun at Nate's house on Wed- he taught everyone to shoot a bow and arrow- he's a great teacher!
Time to head home...

These pictures are giving me fits trying to get them in the correct order- sorry they are out of order, but I have a feeling you don't care!

On Wednesday Jen and ventured to a local apple orchard with the kiddos- despite their terrible customer service, the kids had a blast and ate themselves sick with apples- it was great fun!

It was a great visit!
