Chlorine in Our Blood

We have an amazing pool at the end of our street- we walk there every day, multiple times each day most days, we have made lots of friends there, we are so thankful for it!  It is a big part of what we do- it is the main thing we opted to do this summer!  We are all so happy that Asher and Annalise love it- LOVE it!  "Go to Summer Pool! I put my swim trunks on!" is how Asher greats us each and every morning.  The mornings we do NOT go the pool, as in Saturday and Sunday, he is in tears....

Our swim team is wonderful.  The kids have all made great friends thanks to this- which is perfect since they don't go to school with any of the neighborhood kids!  This year the coaching staff is awesome- each week the kids drop time and improve!  I also love that the coach really puts thought and effort into helping the kids work together- big kids are often paired with younger kids to help them!  This builds a great sense of community- and everyone cheers for everyone- it is such a fun and uplifting time!  You should hear everyone cheering for Annalise as she swims- and she LOVES it!  Addie and Alden adore the big kids who have been assigned help them- they all play together when they see each other!

Both Asher and Annalise have come so far- Annalise swims in the swim meets 25meters free style.  Asher has mastered swimming about 10feet- enough to go off the diving board and slide!  He LOVES it!  With each passing day, he swims farther for longer!  He so desperately wants to be a Big Kid!

Beginning of Summer

We have fully embraced the joy of summer- sleeping in until 7am, swim team practice, spending time with friends, reading, building forts, and just loving being kids!
Writing with friends is SO much fun- especially when Oreos are involved....
Fort Building
After blanket forts kept falling, we pulled out our old tent!
All 4 kids are in here- happily reading and playing!
Making the Mrs. Blevins dessert!
Reading and snoozing in the tent
It has been HOT- on one such day, we went to a birthday party and I got to hold a sweet new baby and stay in the AC while everyone else played outside....
The kiddos are getting SO big, SO tan, and turning into fish!

We had good friends from Ohio visit- Adeline and Eli hit it off!  I think she will be an amazing mom someday!

It isn't fancy but we LOVE our life!!

Family Pics

When Asher and Annalise were baptized, we had all of Al's family in town- so we took advantage of it and asked Tessa to come and take some family pictures.  The last family picture we had Alden and Nate were both 2 years old!  We had a great time posing on the side of the house- and Tessa captured some great pics!  Thank you, Tessa!!

First Swim Meet of the 2014 Season

Amazing.  Simply amazing.  Our first swim meet was just that!  All 3 kids had great swims and Asher had fun playing with friends and slicing his pinky toe!  Al was out of town and friends graciously helped me.  What a great, hot, and amazing meet!!  Addie swam in a relay (4th), 25 free (5th), 25 breastroke (3rd) and 25 backstroke (7th).  Alden swam 25 free (1st) and 25 butterfly (1st).  Annalise crushed her first ever 25 free!!
Ready to go- popsicles in hand!
Adeline's relay- she's in the back
Alden ready for his first event- 25 free- in which he earned 1st place!
Annalise ready for her first swim meet ever- SO excited!
How I kept Asher clearly identified as NOT on swim team! He happily played with other kids, in the sand, and eventually sliced his toe- but what a total champ!
Thumbs-up for swimming- I love how she is such a lady and has her little legs crossed!
Alden ready for 25 butterfly
Addie crushing her 25 free
Her prize- a lollypop!
Asher really wanted to be a part of Swim Team- wearing a swim cap and showing me his muscles made him happy...

Father's Day and Last Day of School

What a weekend to celebrate- it was the end of school AND Father's Day!!  It was great- filled with our traditional cul-de-sac Block Party- the kids loved it!!  Sunday we spent time honoring Al!  It was a great way to start off our Summer!
Officially a 2nd Grader with Mrs. Blevins (yay!) and a 3rd grader with Mrs. Serber!!
Some reading during the block party
Some Egg-Citing Games
Such concentration
So many awesome memories!

Happy Birthday, AG!

It's hard to believe, but our sweet friend, AG turned 4!  We were honored to help her celebrate!  The kids LOVED their first experience with a Slip n Slide!!  Happy Birthday, sweet AG- we are SO thankful for your sparkly spirit!!

Happy Birthday, Al!

Happy Birthday, Al!  You are an amazing father and husband!  We all love you and all that you do for us- most of which you do without thanks, any fanfare, or any recognition.  We love your selfless attitude, how you point our children to Jesus, how you show them what it means to glorify God in all that you do, how you show us what service looks like, how you help us all enjoy a good bowl of chocolate ice cream!

Happy Birthday!!
