A New Phone... All Thanks to My Knight in Shining Armor

Back at Christmas, my phone died- it was a sad day.... My sister-in-law offered to loan me her old iPhone (just iPhone, no number, it was that old). I was thrilled and quickly fell in love with it. I was to use it until the new iPhone was released. You cannot imagine my excitement with the 4S was released! Al ordered one for me at 5am on the first day you could order- what a man! Today it was delivered- but it almost didn't make it into my hands until Monday.... Al had to stop by our house in the middle of the day- and found the note from UPS that it had to be signed for. He called UPS, found out the location of the truck, found the truck and got the phone! My hero!

The package- 680,000 phones were processed by UPS!

A thing of beauty....

A series in technology... Oldest to newest...

Now I have a phone that will not arbitrarily hang-up on people, take forever to update my Words with Friends game, it takes amazing pictures and video, and is just plain pretty! What a great early Christmas gift- thank you, Al!

Pumpkin Patch

There are some pumpkin patches near us that offer all kinds of bells and whistles, but they are all over priced and extremely crowded since the weather has been perfect. Plan B? To revist the pumpkin patch we took Addie to as a 10month old! It is super simple, affordable, and not crowded- perfect! We headed there after church on Sunday.

Yay!!

He saw the little pumpkins and was super exited to pick one! It was just his size...

Addie was infatuated with the "baby" pumpkins as she called them...

Running through the fields looking for the perfect family pumpkin...

Attempt at a sibling picture- guess the sun was too much for one of them...

Heading to the car with our loot! It was lots of fun- our porch and kitchen island are now decorated and next weekend we will have some fun carving the family one!!

"Little Golf"

Addie had a sleep-over with her best friend, Lainey. Alden wasn't too keen on being left-behind- but once he realized that it meant that he would have Mom and Dad all to himself, he perked right up!

First up- dinner of his choosing- Chick-fil-a- sorry, no pictures... We had planned on taking him to ride his bike at a local park, but as we were eating, he asked if we could play "little golf"- he had seen in last week when Al had taken him to the driving range.

Off we went- it was perfect weather for it! The men played and I took pictures.

He was over the moon happy- and not too shabby, either!!

Eyeing up his next putt...

Trying to "help" Daddy's ball not go too far past the hole.

Trying to look like Viagas (or something like that- the famous golfer who likes to almost lay on the ground)

What a beautiful sunset! It was great to have some special time with our amazing little man!

Amazing School Pics

I don't know how the guy does it- but he captured the most perfect pictures of Alden this year- I was seriously tempted to have him take Addie's picture for school...

Alden's class with our much beloved Miss Monica- I love that every child is looking at the camera, smiling and being just perfect!! What a sweet group of kids!!

Looking rather dashing...

This is 100% Alden- sweet but with a clear hint of impishness.... I love that he's in his crocs- it is so him- he would sleep in them if I let him, which is why I allowed him to be photographed in them.

I don't know that I'm always going to order school pics, but these, I HAVE to order!! What sweet Memories- thank you Mr. Amazing Photographer!!

Park and Picnic (attempted)

Since Addie was sick and there was a pretty good chance that Alden was contagious, we decided to skip church and keep our nasty and potentially nasty germs to ourselves. Since the weather was cool, we decided that a picnic at a local park might be a good was to get out a bit and probably not infect anyone else....

It was FREEZING!! Notice the hoods up?

Standing in the sun to eat her pb&j- I do love that she loves her baby dolls (Becca Baby is dressed for the weather since her Mom knew it would be cold).

So handsome!

Plan B- picnic in the back of the car! They loved it- rolling around, laughing, having a ball! It's times like these that I hope they remember....

Touch a Truck

Our good friends told us about a super cool event called Touch a Truck. Something similar had gone on in Delaware, but we had not been able to attend. We were excited to check it out this year. When we drove by and saw all the trucks, I seriously worried that Alden's head was going to explode he was SO excited! (We did take Addie even though she had just been diagnosed with Strep Throat- she was so looking forward to it- but we told her she had to stay in the stroller, not breath on anyone, and not spit- not too hard....)

Thrilled to be "driving" a bulldozer!

Over the moon happy to be driving a trash truck- his current favorite!

In hog-heaven...

Almost our turn to check out the $5.5million helicopter!

They both saw the radio and immediately grabbed it and starting "calling for help." How did they know that?!? (for the record, Addie was only allowed out of the stroller a few times since she was still contagious- but I couldn't keep her from THIS!)

Safety first- so glad to see their friend Hannah!

Waiting to "drive" another truck- I promise he was having the time of his life!!

Thinking that sitting in the firetruck is pretty darn cool!

Addie was excited to be allowed in a truck- it took her some time to want to get out of the stroller....

We told the kids that this was the ONLY way they would ever be allowed to be in the BACK of the police car...

Thinking it's pretty cool to drive...

Taking his job seriously... Even on his knees....

Loving the Kangaroo

What a perfect final-truck- we drive past one of these in action just about every morning, so getting to "drive" one and honk the horn was just the icing on the cake for this little boy!

Fun Times This Week

We had a great week- full of learning, fun with friends, and yet, we were all looking forward to the weekend!! This first picture is from LAST weekend, but it was just too cute to not include!! They mostly take showers, so getting to take a bath is extra-special!

Al found Alden a kids left-handed set of golf clubs at a local thrift store for $4- and Alden was thrilled! He loves his plastic set from Little Tykes, but this is just like Daddy's so he is over the moon!

While the men played golf, Addie wanted to be outside, too. Here she is in her element- coloring, cutting and gluing!

Setting up his tee- and he can sure whack that ball! Watch out Tiger!

Friday- yay!! Who knew a boogie board could STILL be used even when the pool was long closed? It can be perfect for carrying lots of toys and even a sister!

Friday night, Addie was just not herself, and at 5am, she woke-up crying about her throat hurting.... Thank goodness our Pediatrician has Saturday hours- and much to the shock of our Dr. Addie tested positive for Strep Throat.... It's supposed to be incredibly difficult to get this without tonsils- yet she did it, poor thing.... Once she got some drugs she was fine, but she sure does look pathetic, doesn't she??
