Hair Cuts
Addie and I had a special Mommy-Daughter time this evening. We took care of a friends cats- which she loves to do- and then got our hair cut. Just us- it was fun!
Let me digress- When we moved here a year ago, I met a lady who bought my exersaucer, and she graciously shared info on the local area- a good hairdresser being one of them. Stacey does hair out of a cute little studio off the side of her house. She does this so she can be an active mom to her 2 teenage kids. She cut my hair in July- and I loved the cut! Her prices are better then Wal-Mart and the cut is amazing!! Yay- it helped me feel like Millsboro was pretty great- 1 good find down, a few more to go....
This evening, I took Addie and myself, to get our hair cut and I am thrilled with the result.

Saint Paddy's Day
For a very long time, I have dreamed of doing all kinds of funny and crazy things with my kids. Making green eggs and ham, green pancakes, etc. Today, I finally had kids old enough to appreciate these things!! We enjoyed green shamrock pancakes for breakfast complete with green milk- which I forgot to take a picture of. Addie had a fun party at school- and didn't want to pose in her green shirt and special hat (sorry). We ended the day by playing at the park and getting rid of some energy. What a special day to celebrate Saint Paddy and his love of telling children about Jesus using the shamrock!
Not too sure about the green pancakes...
Addie offering to show me hers, but not share
Alden gives his official stamp (or should I say shove?) of approval
Addie playing her early Easter present a Leapster- the point of the picture- her green shirt- so cute!
Alden wearing his shirt- Mommy's Little Pot of Gold. A little cheesy, but what do you expect for .99?!
Addie and Lexi Bear enjoying the swings- they are both cold- see the hoods are up on both?
Mr. Cool
Having fun on the slides
Mr. I Have No Fear....
My Ever Creative Children
My kids have been exceptionally "creative" lately....
Building a nest between the bookshelf, the desk, the wall, and the chair- complete with pillows, milk cups, cozy blanket and toys.
Reading up on building codes...
Serious about hammering at the Lowes Kid Build- and she meant business!!
Alden preferred to use the hammer as a chew toy...

A Wasch Women Visit
Our good friends Karen and her daughter Hannah, came for a little visit this wee. We had fun shopping at the outlets, taking a walk around the neighborhood, and going to MOPS. Thanks for making the trip and teaching the kids about "Zerbert's"!!

One packed car! It could be a commercial for either Britax (all 5 car seats are Britax) or Honda Pilots- it can hold 5 car seats AND 2 adults!!

Our Week in Review
Addie's First Report Card
Addie received her first ever report card and I couldn't be prouder!! Since our scanner is gone (RIP), you will have to look closely at the picture. She got all "O's" with a nice note from her teacher!! I just hope this is the beginning of many good report cards- I am so proud of my little girl!!

My Creative Boy
Alden is already starting to show signs of creativity and dexterity that seems to have blossomed when he discovered his new best friend- a little chair. See the pictures below....

I want those cookies!

Notice he's using his new best friend (the little chair)- he's also used the black pan on the counter to try to reach the cookies.

He is MAD that the black pan did not bring the cookies closer, but instead, pushed them further away!

Once again, using his BFF, to attempt to climb over our gate.

Trying to climb over- notice he has his toes in the netting....

Finally, if you don't succeed, flash Mom your cutest grin and hope she puts you over the gate!

Happy Birthday, Avery!
On Tuesday, it was Avery's birthday and the Big Kids really got into making her cards!
Alden overseeing Avery eating her birthday animal cookies
Addie and Grayson checking each other's cards out
Grayson showing off his card
"Gee, did I make this?"
Alden waxing eloquent about his card....
Oops- Addie shows that she tried to use a green marker as lipstick...
Fun in the Snow- Again
Delaware doesn't usually get much snow- or so we had been told. We are just now getting over our 2nd Big Snow this year. The kids were not fans this time- it was FREEEEEZING and super windy. Still, I managed to get them out to play in it long enough to document it with a few pictures....
All bundled up and ready to go!
"Mommy! I'm eating ice cream!" She thought this was the BEST!
Pointing to our Snow Princess- we had to take a break after making her- to thaw out.

Our Snow Princess- yes, she is wearing a Tiara!

Addie liked her Snow Princess- but once she was decorated, she wanted to go in.

Lowes Car Build
Every 2nd and 4th Saturday, Lowes offers a Kids Build- various projects that are easy for kids to construct. Al was chosen to lead his stores first one, building a wooden race car. I was a little hesitant to take the kids- thinking it would be too difficult, but after watching Al build the prototype, I realized it was easy!
Saturday morning we headed to Lowes and built a race car- it was lots of fun! Addie had to reminded on our way there, that Daddy was going to have to help the other boys and girls, and couldn't just help her. It's a good thing I told her this- there were over 20 kids there!
Each kid got a car kit, a Lowes red apron, complete with a card to put their name on (to look like the employees!), safety goggles, a patch that certified that they were involved in the Car Build, a certificate and a tiny hammer (the hammer had to be returned). Al did a great job instructing everyone how to build the car and fun was had by all!
Ready to start!
Addie showing me her little hammer!
Very serious about building- can you see she's wearing her apron?
Alden trying to help hammer the nails in...
All done!!
